I came to live with my grandfather Wilfred and my granny Humilta when I was 2 years old as their son and my mother Brenda were not able to take care of me and my sister Nicole. They took us into their care and raised us as their own. My grandfather was a very smart man, taught me how to push myself in sports, learn alternative ways of finding an equation in math, supported my artistic expression in my paintings and sketches, music/dance, and loved tasting my foods I brought home from shops classes. He encouraged to read history and learn geography and always think outside the box. I learned to love my mixed and our West Indian, Trinidadian culture from him. It hurt the day he passed away and hurt even more at his wake when I saw him laying there in a casket because if I could trade places with him to give him one more day, I would have. He was 76 years old at his passing, far too young for an active healthy man to leave this planet. May his soul be blessed and rest in peace for all he did for his wife, family, and children. Thank you for adopting me. Love Angelique ❤️ - Posted by: Angelique Stewart (Granddaughter) on: Jul 01, 2024
